Jay-Z to Lil Mama: You T-Paining Right Now

Who would have known Sunday night’s VMAs would serve as such a source of laughter this far into the week? The latest bit of comedy? Well, as Lil Mama’s reps warned us, she does have more to say about the incident in which she crashed Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performance at the VMAs.


Lil Mama sat down with MTV News to further explain her actions. According to Lil Mama, when she appeared on stage Jay-Z told her “oh, you T-Paining right now, huh,” referring to T-Pain’s stage crash during Jay’s performance of D.O.A. at Hot 97’s Summer Jam. Lil Mama, however, said she didn’t know what Jay said and thought “he was like, ‘OK, enjoying the moment with me, interacting.’” Lil Mama said, “after watching it from home, watching myself on the Internet, I’m bouncing and I’m coming toward Jay-Z and he’s backing up. And my emotions at the time was like a vibe, like ‘Yeah, New York.’… Now that I’m home, I was like, ‘Wow, Jay-Z wasn’t feeling it.’”

Lil Mama has apologized since the incident. She further stated in the interview, “I would never get up there and try to disrespect Jay-Z or take a moment that someone else created and try to live it. I’m too original for that and I respect him too much for that.”

First it was for her insensitive comments to Leiomy of Vogue Evolution, now for her ridiculous stunt at the end of the VMAs, Lil Mama is saying she’s sorry. In case you missed it, Bow Wow Lil Mama ran up on stage at the end of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys performance of “Empire State of Mind,” and even struck a pose with the two. There was just one little problem. SHE WASN’T SUPPOSED TO BE THERE. What made it even more embarrassing to her was the fact neither artist acknowledged her presence on stage. Jay-Z even had a shoo fly look on his face.

Anyhow, Monday afternoon Lil Mama released a statement to MTV News via her manager saying, “I did not mean any disrespect towards Jay-Z or Alicia Keys,” the statement reads. “I admire them and look up to them as role models. ‘Empire State of Mind’ had my emotions running high. In that moment I came up onstage to celebrate my two icons singing about NY.”

Obama Calls Kanye A “Jackass” For VMA Stunt

It’s seems everyone has something to say about Kanye West interruption of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at the VMAs, even the President of the United States. During an interview on CNBC yeserday (September 14), President Obama called Kanye a “jackass.” This portion of the interview was off-the-record. ABC News reporter Terry Moran leaked Obama’s comment via Twitter but then deleted it.

MediaTakeOut.com just got wind of some EXPLOSIVE NEWS!!!! Apparently Kanye’s outburst during Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech has caused more trouble than he could have imagined.

According to one of MediaTakeOut.com’s entertainment industry insiders, it caused a HUGE BLOW UP between Jay Z and Beyonce.

The insider, who asked to remain anonymous, told MediaTakeOut.com that soon after Kanye’s outburst - MTV network execs were furious. They asked Kanye to go out on stage and apologize - which he refused. Instead, our insider explained, Kanye chose to leave the event.

But here’s where things get interesting. While all this was happening backstage, MediaTakeOut.com learned that Jay Z was right there with Kanye. According to our insider, “Jay Z was upset with the way [MTV] treated Kanye … so when he saw Beyonce do what she did with Taylor - he saw it as a very disloyal move.”

And that disloyalty wouldn’t go without being punished. According to our insider, Jay LEFT THE EVENT without Beyonce. He reportedly called up Rihanna - who did not attend the Awards show - and attended at least 2 of the VMA afterparties with her instead.
