However, the reason behind her 'gangsta' actions make this story all the more interesting. 92 year old Helen Staudinger of Marion County, Florida had a crush on neighbor Dwight Bettner. In an interview, Dwight explains, "She said 'Well I'm not leaving without a kiss.' And I said, 'Well I've got a girlfriend, so I'm not gonna give you no kiss.'" The victim, Dwight Bettner, says that the neighbor "raised hell," but he never expected her to return with a gun. Police also reported that Staudinger opened fire in the victims car.

A pilot policy to allow transgender people to choose between Men’s and women's shelters has proven to reduced violence. But women's Shelters are safer for either identity.

Tiffany Jones became homeless when she aged out of foster care last year. Although Jones identifies as a woman and takes female hormones, her legal paperwork identifies her as a man. But Jones was pleasantly surprised when she went to apply for help at a men's shelter last September and was asked if she was transgender and wanted to live in a women’s shelter. "They saw that I’m a woman,” says Jones, 22, who has been living in a women’s shelter for 10 months. “There’s still some negative attention surrounding living with women. I had a couple fights when I first came in but not anymore. I had to prove a point that just because I’m transgender there’s no way of beating me. But if I were in the men’s shelter I’d be beaten up or raped,” she said. Jones was fortunate that the staff member who handled her intake at the men's shelter knew about the city Department of Homeless Services (DHS) policy allowing a transgender and gender nonconforming person to choose to stay in the shelter for the gender that he or she identifies as, regardless of whether the person has taken legal or medical steps to align his or her body with that identity. New York City's policy was implemented in January 2006 after LGBT advocates lobbied DHS for three years about ending the harassment of transgender women living in men's shelters. Besides permitting transgender shelter-seekers to stay in shelters appropriate to their identity, the policy states that "staff will address individuals with names, titles and other terms appropriate to their gender identity" and "staff at Intake/Shelter assignments will receive training on diversity, transgender and intersex issues." The policy defines transgender as "an umbrella term that includes anyone whose gender identity and/or gender expression does not match society's expectations of how an individual assigned a particular sex at birth should behave or appear." The broad definition includes people who are androgynous, drag queens or kings and cross-dressers. The policy was implemented as a four-year pilot program in January 2006 at three men's and three women's shelters. The written policy has not been updated since the program's inception. But it now applies at all homeless shelters that receive city funding. New York City, which operates the largest homeless shelter system in the

U.S.

, housed 36,654people on November 26, the most recent night for which statistics are available. The system links city-run intake centers, which determine whether people are eligible for shelter, with residences operated by 150 private providers who have contracts with the city

A National Issue

Transgender and gender-nonconforming people are more likely to be homeless than the general population. The National Transgender Discrimination Survey's report on housing, to be released at the end of this year, showed that of the 6,560 people surveyed nationwide,19 percent of survey participants have experienced homelessness. Many transgender people have less of a social safety net. They are less likely to have support from parents, who might kick their nonconforming children out of their homes. In addition, job-related discrimination leads to unemployment. The National Transgender Discrimination Survey found 97 percent of the 6,560 people surveyed faced job-related discrimination, and the survey respondents faced unemployment at double the rate of the general population. The survey found 19 percent of participants have experienced homelessness. Of that group, 29 percent were denied access to a shelter, 42 percent were "forced to live as the wrong gender to be allowed to stay in a shelter" and 47 percent decided to leave a shelter because of poor treatment. Twenty-five percent have been physically assaulted or attacked by resident or staff and 22 percent have been sexually assaulted by residents or staff. Across the country, access to safe shelter is a barrier to transgender people. Unlike in New York City, most shelter systems don't have to respect the gender identity a person chooses. "Some cities say you have to live with people of the gender of your birth, which flies in the face of very certain preference, a comfort level and rightness factor," Neil Donovan, executive director of National Coalition for the Homeless, says. "The way they address the problem is not addressing it." New York City is now considered to have one of the most transgender-inclusive shelter systems in the country, according to advocates. Donovan says New York, San Francisco, Boston, Los Angeles and Sacramento as are cities that have implemented positive polices.

Early results, new questions

DHS has not tracked transgender people in shelters, and thus can't analyze the policy's results with precision. However, the agency says it is pleased with its outcome.

"Homeless Services and advocates of the transgender community worked together to ensure development of a fair and progressive policy for transgender clients which is today fully implemented and successfully assisting those transgender clients who come to Homeless Services in need," says DHS spokeswoman Heather Janik. Advocates say they have received fewer complaints of violence and harassment since the policy's implementation. Patrick Markee, senior policy analyst at the Coalition for the Homeless, says his organization has received fewer complaints of "real harassment" since the policy's implementation. "There are fundamental realities about living in congregate shelters," Markee says. "People share a bathroom and bedroom with people who are effectively strangers to you. All of these things create problems every day of the week. I don't think anyone expected a miracle. But it was definitely a positive thing." The policy states that all shelter residents have access to all restrooms, bathrooms and showers. However, "any resident concerned about privacy should be directed to the restrooms, bathrooms and showers that have more privacy." The chief success of the policy is that it has allowed transgender women (people who are legally male but identify as women) to stay in women's shelters, where they are less likely to experience violence. However, according to advocates, men's shelters continue to be an unsafe place for both transgender men and women. So many transgender men (women legally, but identifying as male) still stay in women's shelters for fear of violence and harassment if other residents found out their identities. "I spoke to a transgender man who wanted to go to a men's shelter, as much as I protested," said Jay Toole, Director of the Shelter Project at Queers for Economic Justice. "I told the shelter I was sending a transman in to just be aware for safety. A day later, he called and said he can't stay there. It's too unsafe. If the other residents ever perceived [him]as a transman, it would be unsafe." And while transgender women have the option of staying in women's shelters, many are not aware of their choices. "I see a lot of transwomen who go into the mens' shelters because they still don't know this policy," Toole said. "The mens' shelters should have signs up that say, 'If you identify as female and want to go into the female facility here's what you should do.'" Because the last training for the policy took place four years ago, many shelter staff are unaware of the policy, advocates say. With high turnover among staff in the shelters, Toole says it's not realistic for every staffer to be trained, but adds, "Shelter directors and clinical directors should inform front line staff more often about the policy that transgender folks can choose which side of the shelter system they can go into."

Deeper needs

Homeless transgender men and women need not more than shelter—they need services. And while there are well-established resources for LGBT homeless youth, adult LGBT people have less support. The LGBT support groups Queers for Economic Justice runs at three shelters—which allow residents to discuss their problems in a safe space—are the only structured support in place for this population. Case managers in shelters are often unaware of the specific health needs and discrimination they face. Toole, who was herself homeless for 20 years, is attempting to set up a non-profit to tart a transitional shelter for homeless LGBT adults. "There's definitely a need," she said. "Some people just can't survive. It's an uphill battle right now." As for Jones, she is working to get permanent housing and get out of the shelter system as soon as possible. "I'm trying to get housing somehow. I'm not where exactly I want to be," she said. But she is grateful to be able to wait it out among women. "I have female friends I can look upon for advice. I'm comfortable being here with females so that's fantastic."

New Hepatitis C drug said to work better for Black patients

A late stage trial of Vertex Pharmaceuticals Inc's eagerly anticipated hepatitis C drug “TELAPREVIR” showed impressive cure rates for black patients and for patients with advanced liver disease.

In the Phase III study known as Advance, 62 percent of black patients who received telaprevir achieved sustained viral response (SVR), which is considered tantamount to a cure. That compared with just a 25 percent cure rate from the current standard drugs of pegylated interferon and ribavirin.

The study's overall cure rates 75% for telaprevir in combination with the current standard drugs versus 44% for the standard drugs alone was previously released. But full details of the trial were being presented for the first time at the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases meeting in Boston.

Breaking out an analysis of black patients in the trial was significant because of the greater prevalence of hepatitis C and historically lower cure rates for that population.

FACT: African Americans bare a large proportion of the burden of hepatitis C in the United States compared with Caucasians and the overall general population.

According to data compiled from 1999 to 2002, one in seven African American men between the ages of 50 and 59 in the United States is living with hepatitis C.

Telaprevir, from a new class of antiviral drugs, is widely expected to be approved by U.S. regulators next year. Vertex plans to complete its application seeking approval this year.

Excitement over the drug has been high, and a similar experimental medicine is being developed by Merck & Co. It is said to believe that Merck & Co have demonstrated significantly higher cure rates than current drugs and the potential to cut treatment duration in half for many patients.

Cutting treatment duration from the current 48 weeks is a huge advantage as the current drugs, which must still be taken with the new medicines, can cause debilitating flu-like symptoms that cause many patients to discontinue treatment or avoid it altogether. It is believed that thousands of patients with hepatitis C have been putting off treatment to await the new, more effective medicines.

In the Advance study, 58% of patients who received telaprevir met the criteria for a 24 week treatment duration. Said criteria called for levels of the virus in the blood to fall to undetectable levels after 4 and 12 weeks of treatment.

A separate study demonstrated no additional benefit from extending telaprevir treatment to the full 48 weeks in patients who met the criteria for shorter duration treatment.

A further sub-group analysis of the Advance data showed that telaprevir led to a 62% cure rate in hepatitis C patients with advanced liver fibrosis or cirrhosis compared with a 33% SVR rate on standard drugs. Patients with those conditions, which can lead to liver cancer or need for a transplant, are also traditionally more difficult to treat than the overall hepatitis C population.

It was said that the Phase III program, starting people with 12 weeks of telaprevir-based combination therapy resulted in significant improvements in viral cure rates, regardless of race, extent of liver damage or experience with prior treatment.

Perry’s new movie is based off Ntozake Shange’s 1975 play. The play consists of a series of monologues and poems performed by a cast of nameless women who are known only by a color. The poems address subjects such as love, abandonment, and abortion.

AS READ ON AOL NEWS: New images of a colossal sunspot show the chaos and energy on the surface of the sun.

The New Solar Telescope in Big Bear Lake, Calif., snapped the closest image ever taken of the sunspot, which is larger than the Earth. Resembling a giant sunflower, it makes for a pretty picture, but the black fibers are violent jets of energy being thrown from the surface of the star.

"What's interesting is that when we look at the sunspot, it appears pretty benign," New Jersey Institute of Technology professor Philip R. Goode told Fox News. But "the fibers are actually jets of energy being ejected from the bright magnetic fields at the surface."

Temperatures in the sunspot range from 6,500 degrees Fahrenheit to more than 10,000 degrees.

Sunspots are dark structures on the surface of the sun. They are created by intense magnetic activity, according to Space.com

These structures can erupt, sending storms hurtling out into space.

The storms can be felt on Earth, almost 93 million miles away, affecting power systems and satellites.

Last month, the sun sent out tons of plasma matter into space, an event that some dubbed a "solar tsunami." The tsunami created an incredible light display on Earth, with a green curtain of light being seen in skies above Michigan, according to The Daily Mail.

NASA is also working on a new way to study the sun. The agency plans to launch an unmanned craft into the sun's outer atmosphere, BBC News reported.

The craft will be about the size of a car and will send back readings from the sun's outer atmosphere before it is destroyed by temperatures topping 2,550 degrees.

"For the very first time, we'll be able to touch, taste and smell our sun," Nasa scientist Lika Guhathakurta told BBC News.

Cali Doctor Dies In Boyfriend's Chimney

A doctor involved in an "on-again, off-again" relationship apparently tried to force her way into her boyfriend's home by sliding down the chimney, police said Tuesday. Her decomposing body was found there three days later.

According to the Article I read on AOL NEWS:

Dr. Jacquelyn Kotarac, 49, first tried to get into the house with a shovel, then climbed a ladder to the roof last Wednesday night, removed the chimney cap and slid feet first down the flue, Bakersfield police Sgt. Mary DeGeare said. While she was trying to break in, the man she was pursuing escaped unnoticed from another exit "to avoid a confrontation," authorities said. DeGeare said the two were in an "on-again, off-again" relationship. The man's identity was not revealed by police, but the man who resides in the home is William Moodie, 58. "She made an unbelievable error in judgment and nobody understands why, and unfortunately she's passed away," Moodie told The Associated Press. "She had her issues - she had her demons - but I never lost my respect for her." Reached by telephone, Moodie did not dispute the police's characterization of his relationship with Kotarac. He would not comment on the circumstances that led to her death, saying it was more important to focus on the good she did in life. Moodie, who runs an engineering consulting firm, said Kotarac was a superb internist who often provided service and medication free of charge to her patients. Kotarac apparently died in the chimney, but her body was not discovered until a house-sitter noticed a stench and fluids coming from the fireplace Saturday, according to a police statement. The house-sitter and her son investigated with a flashlight and found Kotarac dead, wedged about two feet above the top of the interior fireplace opening. Firefighters spent five hours late Saturday dismantling the chimney and flue from outside the home to extract Kotarac's body, DeGeare said. Officials said Kotarac's office staff reported her missing two days prior when she failed to show for work. Her car and belongings remained near the man's house. A cause of death has not been determined, and an autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday. Foul play is not suspected, though investigators have been looking into the incident as suspicious.

Something To Think About: BE YOURSELF

We are so accustomed to disguise ourselves to others that in the end we become disguised to ourselves. Learn to be what you are, and learn to resign with a good grace all that you are not. Everything isn't for everybody. What works for 1 may not work for the other. Just be the best YOU that you can be. How can people really appreciate & love you if they don't know who YOU really are?

Just a sidebar, but as I was typing this I got a flash in my head from the movie "Just Friends." If you haven't seen it you should it's a good movie. But what was going through my head was the scene when Chris, played by Ryan Reynolds, is looking for his ice skates & he calls his mom to see if she knows where they are. Chris tell his mom he’s looking for his skates because he wanted to show his H.S. crush Jamie, played by Amy Smart, how good at ice skating he got & the mother tells him he should be himself. She then goes off singing "Be Yourself!, Be Yourself!, Be Yourself!"

What is it about gay hookup sites that give guys the same courage to speak up & holla at someone the way that liquor or substances do for most?

NYC may be a big city but for most of us NY natives it might not be big enough. This city is filled with tons of gay people. We walk past each other on the streets, train, buses, clubs & other social venues. However, very few people like to speak up when they see someone they like. I know many of you are wonder where this is coming from. I just find it funny that you can come in contact with a person multiple times in a number of places and not even exchange a hello. You might get a look here and there or even play those lil flirtatious eye games but it’s VERY rare that 1 dude will step to the next dude (unless the person is under some kind of influence: Weed, Alcohol, etc). Now when that same dude comes across your profile on A4A, M4N or BGC they wanna hit you up. Now with the exception of the DL dudes why is it that most other gay males will bypass you in public but want to chop it up online. Is it a self esteem thing? I assume for most it might be fear of rejection. However, to me, rejection is rejection be it online or in person. I spoke to this dude today on A4A that I’ve know of for a while. We follow each other on twitter and even have each other as friends on BBM, but today happened to be the 1st time we ever really spoke. And yes, the 1st half of the convo took place on A4A before we moved it to BBM. To be honest I was shocked the person hit me up. I was even more shocked when the person went on to tell me they’d try to holla at me in the past as well. As I said before we’re twitter & BBM friends I don’t know why he waiting so long to hit me up. Better yet, if he had not seen my A4A page would he have hit me up at all?

I don’t know. I really didn’t have like a whole big main idea in mind when I decided to write this post. I just thought I’d display my thoughts. I’ve noticed that most of my blog posts are about events & don’t really have anything that really shows my personality or any personal side of me really, with the exception of my poems. So from this day on I promise to you that I will post more about what goes on in my crazy lil head.

Traxx Club Owner & Atlanta Black Gay Pride Organizer Durand Robinson Shot & Killed

Durand Robinson, Atlanta Black Gay Pride co-organizer and co-owner of the infamous Traxx nightclub, was shot in the chest and killed in Southwest Atlanta in the early morning hours on Wednesday (August 25th). The incident took place on Hadlock Street around 1:30 a.m.

According to Black Gay Gossip, Robinson had left a meeting with fellow Traxx board members held in Midtown about an hour before the shooting. Neither the meeting nor Robinson’s home was anywhere near where the shooting took place. Durand’s brother, Prince Robinson, was told his brother was accosted in the Greenbriar Mall and driven to Hadlock St. and thrown from the car. Police are investigating the matter to determine the motive for the shooting as well as to apprehend the perpetrators. No conclusions have been reached at this time.

As of now I believe the word is that this was a car jacking. For some strange reason, even though I was not there & don’t know the exact details, I believe it’s something more to it. That’s just my gut feeling.

Call it R&B with a hip-hop urgency. “We’re just making sure that I’m felt in the streets as much as I’m felt on the soulful level,” says 23-year-old songbook/ recording artist Al-B. I tell you this man has it in his future to make it big. His mixtape "Underrated 1.0" was released yesterday, and I must say the shit is hot. You can check out the tracks below. I'm telling you, it's pure enjoyment. Al-B mos def got skills & I look forward to seeing him make some BIG moves.

The Nothern,Virginia phenom always had a musical career in mind. As a child, there was no rigorous voice or piano lessons. All through in high school, Al-b was doing things most kids his age weren't doing: Songwriting, Rehearsing, and Teaching himself vocal training. “I just got so into R&B at the time,” says Al-b. “I was listening to straight rap, like RZA, Biggie, Jay-Z, and Nas.” The only R&B artist who caught his attention was Carl Thomas. “When it comes to R&B, he kills it. He gives you every part of the soul he can think of,” says Al-B, whose elastic tenor conjures a younger, fresher Thomas.

Al-B formed a group named Emage, who consisted of himself and 3 high school friends: Shawn (S.P) Proctor, Brian (B.Nice) Bassett and Renzee (Renzo) Mathis. They were rapidly building a name for themselves, but the real epiphany didn’t occur until age 17 when he decided to go solo. He entered, and won, a total of 10 local talent shows along with American Idol and Missy Elliott's UPN Television show Road to Stardom.

Upon finishing high school, Al-B focus was solely on music. Kendrick Redfearn (SUPER KEN), Radio Personality for 93.9 WKYS and cousin of Al-B saw his drive and, in turn, focused on teaching his protégé music history. “We would go to the New York studio every weekend with my cousin Mel", and during the drive, he’d play me all sorts of stuff, like The Supremes,” recalls Al-B. “When it came time to learn about falsetto, he’d play me Maxwell. When it came time to learn about soul, he’d play me Motown.” Al-B eventually became Depth Charge Records vocal production assistant. Working with other artists in the studio gave Al-b invaluable technical experience, and prepared the young singer for his bright, not-too-distant future.

Al-B’s rapidly burgeoning talent led to his many different entertainment deals, from acting on the hit TV Show "That’s So Raven", to writing a song for Capitol Records artist and former Destiny's Child member Letoya Luckett's debut album called "I'm Good". While working on his debut album, Al-B has also become much in-demand with this project. He has written and co-produced 70% of the Project. He worked with Matraxx Productions for one of the albums hits ("Hush" featuring AV) In addition; he is on tap to collaborate with the likes of Lil Mo, J.Hoilday, and many local artists as well on their forthcoming projects.

Most importantly, Al-B has been busy perfecting his own soulful/Pop premiere, "My Words", an 16-entry diary about a young man and his fascinating dreams, loves, and hustles – a work of street and sweet sensibility produced mostly by Michael Stone. From the Soulful track (“Can't Take It"), to the realization that maybe you’re in love with a person who's mother is to involved (“Momma”), to the assertion that there’s no one else in the world for you (“I Gotta Stay Here”) and Virginia’s own Anthem ("Throw Em Up" featuring Baby LJ. The album has something for everybody. At the same time, "Al-B’s VA's Finest Mixtape,” will maintain his street cred by aggressively attacking the mixtape circuit. This route, normally used by rap artists, and Virginia's own Trey Songz has made this R&B singer/songwriter a standout amongst his peers with his Freestyle Singing Skills.

“There’s so much on my mind that I can’t say on a regular R&B record,” confesses Al-B. “So mixtapes are a great outlet".

KEGEL EXERCISES FOR MEN

GENERAL INFORMATION:

What is it? Kegel exercises help to strengthen the pelvic muscles and to bring back or improve bladder and bowel control. People with stress incontinence (in-KON-ti-nens) (urine leakage during activities or exercise) often do Kegel exercises. People with fecal incontinence (problems controlling bowel movement leakage) may also do Kegel exercises. These exercises are done by tightening and relaxing the pelvic muscles. Kegel exercises are also called pelvic floor muscle training or pelvic floor exercises. They must be done correctly and regularly in order to help strengthen the pelvic muscles.

What are pelvic muscles? Pelvic muscles are attached to the area between your pelvic (hip) bones. These muscles act like a strong floor to help hold your pelvic organs in place. Examples of pelvic organs are the bladder (holds urine) and rectum (holds bowel movements). Certain conditions may cause the pelvic muscles to weaken. When your pelvic muscles become weak, the pelvic organs may sag onto one another. When this happens, you may have stress incontinence or other problems.

What causes weak pelvic muscles?

• Being overweight.

• Doing activities that put pressure on the bladder. These include hard coughing, sneezing, and heavy lifting. These include constipation (kon-sti-PAY-shun) (hard to have a BM) straining often while urinating or having a BM.

• Normal aging (becoming an older adult).

• Not exercising regularly.

• Prostate gland surgery

How are Kegel exercises done? Kegel exercises can be done any time and anywhere. You can do them in the morning, noon or night. The exercises can be done while sitting, standing, lying on your back or taking a bath. Always urinate (empty your bladder) before starting. Do these exercises each day as directed by your caregiver.

• Slow contractions:

o Contract (tighten) the muscles around your anus (hole where bowel movements come out). This should feel like you are trying to hold back urine or gas.

o Hold these muscles for a count of 10.

o Slowly release these muscles and relax for a count of 10. Repeat the cycle again.

o Do a set of 10 contractions, three to four times every day.

• Quick contractions: Do five to ten quick, strong contractions after you are finished doing the slow contractions. These may help you prevent an accident by quickly stopping urine leaks.

• Remember: Keep your abdominal (stomach), back, and leg muscles relaxed during Kegel exercises. You should feel only the muscles between your legs (pelvic muscles) contracting. Try not to hold your breath while doing these exercises.

What can I do if my muscles are too weak to hold contractions? At the beginning, many people cannot contract their muscles for a count of 10. Build up your pelvic muscles slowly. Start Kegel exercises by squeezing and relaxing pelvic muscles for four to five seconds each. You can increase your count as your muscle tone improves.

What are the correct muscles to use during Kegel exercises? Some people use the wrong muscles when doing Kegel exercises. Instead of using the pelvic muscles, they use their back, abdominal, or upper leg muscles. If you use the wrong muscles, the Kegel exercises will not help you. To make sure you are using the right muscles, try the following:

• Sit on the toilet, or stand in front of the toilet. While passing urine, tighten your muscles to stop the flow of urine. Do this several times until you know what it feels like to tighten the correct muscles. Once you have found the right muscles to use, only do Kegel exercises when you are not urinating.

• Lie down and put one finger in your rectum. Tighten your muscles as if trying to stop urine and BM from coming out. The rectal muscle should tighten around your finger.

• Your caregiver may do biofeedback (beye-oh-FEED-bak) or electrostimulation (ee-lek-troh-stim-u-LAY-shun) to help you use the correct muscles. The caregiver may put electrodes on your abdomen and rectal (BM) area, or a sensor inside your rectum. Electrodes and sensors are patches or inserts with wires that are attached to a machine. Biofeedback can help you identify (feel) the correct muscles to use and measure muscle strength during Kegel exercises. Electrostimulation may help improve muscle tone by making the correct muscles contract.

How can I remember to do my Kegel exercises regularly? Do your exercises at the same times every day. For example, you can do Kegel exercises when you wake up in the morning, after lunch, and at bedtime. You may want to keep a Kegel exercise diary. Write down how many times each day you do Kegel exercises and how many exercises you do each time.

What else should I know about Kegel exercises?

• It may take three to six months after starting Kegel exercises to see a difference in bladder control. You may begin to notice improved bladder control after six to eight weeks.

• Do not stop doing Kegel exercises until you have talked to your caregiver. Kegel exercises are useful for the rest of your life.

• Tighten your pelvic muscles before sneezing, lifting, jumping or getting out of the car.

• Increased muscle tone from doing Kegel exercises may improve your ability to have erections (ee-REK-shuns).

• Women may also use Kegel exercises to improve bladder control.

Call your caregiver if:

• You cannot feel your muscles tightening and relaxing. Call if you think you are using the wrong muscles to do Kegel exercises.

• Your incontinence is getting worse.

• You have a hard cough that will not go away, and it is making your incontinence worse.

GERMAN POP STAR ADMITS TO SLEEPING WITH EX-LOVERS WHILE HINDING SHE HAS HIV

On August 16th German pop star Nadja Benaissa (pictured above) of the group “No Angels” stood before a court in Darmstadt, Germany weeping. Nadja, once part of the biggest-selling German girl group to date, stands trial this week facing charges of aggravated assault due to allegations she had unprotected sex with her ex-lovers without informing any of them of her HIV status. Nadja, now 28, was told of her status at the tender age of 17 following a routine screening. Of the three men she’s said to had sex with between 2000 and 2004, one of them was infected with HIV and is proclaiming he contracted the disease from Nadja. Nadja was arrested last year and served ten days in jail.

In court Nadja admits keeping her status a secret because she feared losing her career. In a written court statement Nadja goes on to say:

“I was told that the chance of the infection breaking out in my case is almost zero… Same low is the risk (sic) that I could infect somebody else with HIV. That was the reason why I did not tell anybody at first because I did not want my daughter to be punished for my behavior and my infection. I have never told the public before, because I have had fear that this would be the end for our band.”

Wow.. Thats just pure craziness. I'm not sure if it will be the end of the group... but I sure think it's the end of her career!

Boycotters Do Flash Mobb Stlye Protest At TARGET!

A bunch of protesters out in West Seattle took over a nearby Target, equipped with a band and choreographed dance routines, to bring attention to the controversy surrounding Target’s $150,000 donation to an anti-gay, anti-worker gubernatorial candidate in Minnesota.

In January 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled corporations could spend unlimited money in our elections. In July, Target made the controversial donation. As recently a last week, a quarter million people pledged to boycott Target.

You can handle your haters by:

--Knowing who you are and who your true friends are

--Having a purpose to your life

--By remembering what you have is by divine prerogative and not human

Purpose does not mean having a job. You can have a job and still be

Unfulfilled. A purpose is having a clear sense of what God has called

You to be. Your purpose is not defined by what others think about you.

Fulfill your dreams! You only have one life to live...when it's your

It is a difficult time sometimes to come to the rational that some people in your life have no "value" to give!

Now, when I say value and I am not talking about assets, bank accounts, money, cars, house, apartment... I mean to take the time and really look at how much value a person can provide is a difficult yet "eye opening" situation. It always amazes me how fast you can let someone walk out of your life. Well there is a saying that fast as you come is fast as you go! Nevertheless it is a person’s value that should determine how fast he/she can leave.

What happens when you value more to a person than they value to you? I believe that there comes a point where we have to look at the value of all the people that we deal with on a weekly, daily, month and hourly basis. After looking at who adds value to your life then you can look at the people who do not any value and realize that it is not their value that you are looking at but more so their immediate satisfaction of being apart of your life. Every one that is apart of your life is not necessarily there for value but more so for a season or reason!

Look at your list of friends and mates and see how much value do they really have in my life... Some of the nuances of life that we experience can be avoided because we are giving someone who has no value in our life the placement of someone who has longivity and value.... An associate can not be a friend because a friend’s value is more than an associate or aquantiance can ever be! Know your value to someone and make sure you know the value of your peers to you.... Just a food for thought!

How many faces would someone say that you have?

I am perplexed at times because I often take time to look at myself in the mirror and say how many faces would someone say I have! It is just something that makes me think from time to time. I try to keep it real and I definitely try to be seriously real and truthful with the people who I call "my peeps".... In life we all have to have someone or peeps that we can remove the masks of the many faces we portray and be real wit! I do not see the purpose of calling someone friend, brother, sister, cuz or companion if you can not keep it real with them... MESS is something that creates itself in a relationship (whether it be friendship, or a partner relationship) when the bond between you and the next person is not kept true and one of you have put on a face that should not be there...

If you are my friend and I am yours then I am going to be real with you and keep the faces out of who we are to one another... REALNESS, lets keep it that way because you can not be close to someone if you are not real with them. I believe that there is a certain level of realness that should come from your closer relationships with someone. If you knew me for years then you should be a support of me... well "should" is the word and sometimes we have to look at ourselves before we start to evaluate whether or not someone is being themselves or have a face on!

My friends know that if I call you friend then that means I love you regardless of the situations that may arise.... BUT... if I call you friend I expect that you are going to tell me the real deal and not the face that you put on with others to make it seem like "A" when it is really "B". It astonishes me how people can throw lies so much to the point that when he/she opens their mouth the first thought that you have is which lie are they going to tell today! LOL

That brings me to the face called "center of attention"... Do you always have to be the center of attention? Albeit, I am the type of person that does not mind working in the background I am yet still at times brought to the center of attention... NOT because of who I am or what I know but because of what I do... Some of the church people’s know that is called being "blessed" and what you sow in silence...God rewards openly!

Nevertheless, my point is remove the faces that we carry sometimes and show people the real you. It is appreciated more when getting to know you. No one is perfect and no one has all of their stuff in perfect order. So if you want to be valued by your love ones, colleagues, friends and associates... Be true to yourself by being true to them! Take off the faces of life, the faces of living in the past and not for the present or future, the faces of lies, deception and confusion, the faces of false pretenses and disrespect... Be yourself because when you are yourself … that’s really "A GOOD LOOK!"

'Blessed To Have Met' Gay Ex-Husband says Fran Drescher

In an interview with In Touch Weekly, Fran Drescher has revealed that her ex-husband, Peter Marc Jacobson, to whom she was married for more than 21 years, is gay.

Although he broke the news to her after they divorced in 1999, Drescher has finally come clean about her ex's sexuality, admitting his confession brought them closer together. "Peter and I feel so blessed to have met each other and to still have a caring, loving relationship," Fran says. "Love is what we're all about."

In the interview, Drescher speaks candidly about her openly gay ex-husband and the traumatic burglary that changed everything.

The two first met while attending Hillcrest High School in Jamaica, Queens. The couple married in 1978 when Drescher was 21 -- shortly after she made her film debut in 1977's 'Saturday Night Fever.' In hindsight, Drescher admits young love had its pitfalls, but the two went through life-changing experiences that would later define their careers in Hollywood.

"Peter and I met when we were 15," Drescher tells In Touch. "We were just kids and didn't know who we truly were. We went through a lot together."

Jacobson and Drescher became an unstoppable team when he wrote, directed and produced her signature television series, 'The Nanny.'

But not everything was as simple as it seemed.

The couple had quite a few ups and downs -- including a traumatic experience in January 1985 when two armed robbers broke into their Los Angeles apartment. While one robber ransacked their home, the other sexually assaulted Drescher at gunpoint. Jacobson was also physically attacked, tied up and forced to witness the entire ordeal.

Although the man was sentenced to two life sentences, Drescher had a difficult time overcoming the horrifying ordeal. "At the time, it didn't seem to hurt the marriage," Fran told Larry King in 2002, but added, "Nothing was ever really the same again."

The couple separated in 1996 and were officially divorced in 1999. They did not have any children together.

That's when Jacobson finally told Drescher that he was gay. Although the two split, Drescher reveals they're still "the best of friends" and continue to collaborate. "We love each other dearly," she says. "We have even fixed each other up! I more successfully than him, by the way."

The couple even co-hosted a cocktail party in LA to benefit an organization that sought to block California's ban on same-sex marriage -- known as Prop 8. "I'm a gay icon," she explains. "But even if I weren't, I'm a political activist who believes in preserving the American dream, which is tolerance of diversity and the separation of church and state."

New 'Housewife' Jennifer Gilbert Loses Airtime, Cut From Reunion Special

There will be someone missing from the upcoming reunion episode of the reality television show "The Real Housewives of New York City."

That's Jennifer Gilbert (yellow arrow), an event planner who was quietly introduced in recent weeks on the Bravo TV show as someone arranging a party for housewife Jill Zarin.

Believe it or not, Gilbert wasn't just tapped to organize a party but to be a full-fledged cast member on the third season of the show, which follows a group of women as they juggle their careers, motherhood and busy social calendars. But she says she couldn't get any airtime.

"I don't know there's anything I could've done differently to advocate for myself without looking obnoxious," Gilbert says. "I found in a lot of situations if you didn't scream the loudest or say the meanest thing you weren't heard."

TV crews followed Gilbert for three months at her homes in New York and in the Hamptons. She was filmed for the show's open, but viewers rarely saw her.

"I was surprised because I really did film quite a lot," she says.

She wasn't the only new face added to the cast. Sonja Morgan also joined the show in Season 3, but she already knew Ramona Singer and LuAnn de Lesseps so it made more sense for her to be included in situations on camera.

Also, a big focus this season has been on a feud between Bethenny Frankel and Zarin, which caused alliances among the cast. In one corner, Frankel, Alex McCord and Singer. In the other, Zarin, Kelly Killoren Bensimon and de Lesseps.

Bravo says it hasn't been decided whether Gilbert will return for the show's fourth season. Gilbert says if she does come back she won't channel her inner mean girl for good TV.

"It's not like I'm timid and afraid to speak my mind," she says. "I'm just not inappropriate, and I'm not going to say something that's mean just for the sake of saying it. That's never going to be me. If that's what they're looking for then I'm probably not the right fit."

The funny thing is, I don't even know who she is or remember seeing even a clip of her this season. Oh Well!

The finale airs Thursday at 10 p.m. EDT. A reunion episode airs June 10.

Elizabeth Perkins Leaving "WEEDS" To Hit The Big Screen Again.

'Weeds' Emmy nominee Elizabeth Perkins is leaving her drug-dealing former neighbors and cohorts behind to join the cast of a big-screen comedy.

Perkins, who plays crabby, plotting neighbor Celia Hodes on the Showtime series, will not be in the cast when the show returns for its sixth season on Aug. 16. Instead, she'll be playing James Marsden's mom in the upcoming live-action/CG-animated flick 'I Hop.'

The movie will be directed by 'Alvin and the Chipmunks' helmer Tim Hill, and revolves around Fred, an unemployed slacker (Marsden) who accidentally harms the Easter Bunny's son and has to take care of the poor little bunny while he recovers. Russell Brand provides the voice of Bunny Sr., while Perkins plays Marsden's mom, who's frustrated by her son's shenanigans.

Perkins, who has received three Emmy nods and two Golden Globe nominations for her role on 'Weeds,' makes her return to the big screen with 'I Hop.' She hasn't starred in a movie since a string of projects in 2005 (the year she began her stint on 'Weeds'), including 'Must Love Dogs.' Some Of Perkins early big screen hits include: Big (1988) co-staring Tom Hanks, He Said, She Said co-staring Kevin Bacon (1991) & The Flintstones (1994) co-staring John Goodman.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Perkins is also developing a sitcom as a starring vehicle for herself. In a 2009 interview with AOL TV, Perkins said she and 'Weeds' co-star Mary-Louise Parker have talked about starring together in an American remake of the hit Britcom 'Absolutely Fabulous.'

As for how 'Weeds' will deal with the actress' departure, that could be a challenge, since her Celia was about to embark on a big, and almost certainly hilarious, storyline. In the season 5 finale, Celia was living in a storage locker and had decided to emulate her pal Nancy (Parker) by starting her own drug-dealing team with ex-hubby Dean (Andy Milder), frenemy Doug (Kevin Nealon) and daughter Isabelle (Allie Grant).

I guess we’ll have to see when season 6 starts this summer. I’m sooo hyped. I can’t wait!!!

It is a remake of Wes Craven's 1984 slasher film of the same name and designed to reboot the franchise. The film stars Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger, a role made famous by Robert Englund, while Rooney Mara takes over the role of Nancy Thompson, originally portrayed by Heather Langenkamp. The remake is set to be released on April 30, 2010.

I'm a HUGE fan of the orginal Nightmare on Elm Street franchise and I pray that this remake does it justice. I'm a little nervous the preview didn't really do anything for me. Well.... Maybe just a little bit. The one thing I can say that I like is that the "NEW" Freddy kinda sounds like the "OLD" Freddy, but, will he have a similiar personality? Check it out for yourself!
